Mat vs Reformer
Pilates is a form of exercise which helps improve strength, flexibility, balance and posture.
It can be just bodyweight based exercises, add in props such as hoops, weights and balls, or even using equipment like the reformer machine.
The key characteristic of pilates which makes it different to other exercises, is the focus on mindful movement. It is fantastic for core and back strengthening, with studies showing that regular pilates can reduce back pain by 58% in just 4 weeks.
It is low impact, yet high reward, meaning it is suitable for everyone! No matter what age, ability, fitness level, injuries or medical conditions, there is also a way to reconnect with your body and mind during a pilates session.
